My name is Ray Young. First of all
let me say that it is my pleasure to host this website. My family
and I have been a part of Camp Sunrise since 1995. Our youngest son
Jarrett was diagnosed with Leukemia in Dec. 1994. In Nov 1998 he
relapsed. In March of 1999 he underwent a successful bone marrow
transplant in which his older brother was his donor. All was going well
until March of 2004 when he was diagnosed with a brain tumor (GBM STAGE
IV). On January 9th 2005 Jarrett passed away. (To learn more about
Jarrett please feel free to visit
www.jarrettsfund.com.) We made a promise to Jarrett that we would continue his tradition of going to camp for him. This website is a just a small part of that promise. This site is my way of saying thanks to Jarrett for sharing 14 wonderful years with us, thanks to all of the volunteers that work tirelessly to put a smile on everyone's face. Thanks to all of the Doctors, nurses, Pa's etc. Thanks to the parents of these fantastic, courageous and brave children and most importantly THANK YOU to the children themselves who put their faith, hope, love and trust in all of us involved in Camp. They are the only reason why we are here. Ray
